You can already run Umbraco and MVC in the same site, I've done it on a project.
There's no *real* advantage to having MVC serving the pages (although I've worked on a v4 prototype for that) but having a MVC app and Umbraco in the same site is fine.
This is great news, well I mainly like the sound of it due to nice integration with another MVC app running alongside. Also its clean HTML generation and most of all bye viewstate!
Is there any plans for Umbraco MVC?
Hey guys,
Just wondering if there was any plans for Umbraco built on ASP.net MVC in the future? It would be great as there are so many things I love about MVC!
Cheers / Ryan
Hi Ryan,
Yes Umbraco v5 will be built on MVC. See here for some details.
Cheers!

Hi slace - are there any special concerns or issues with combining MVC and Umbraco?
I have seen this post - http://memoryleak.me.uk/2009/04/umbraco-and-aspnet-mvc.html ...
There's nothing wrong with combining MVC and WebForms, so there's nothing wrong with doing it in Umbraco 4.x ;)
I'm not suggesting there is anything "wrong" - I am just looking for any pitfalls / issues before the (fairly major) project gets started! :-)
I think I shall do some testing now ... !
is working on a reply...
