Thankfully it's even easier: just copy the files in the correct directory for stylesheets and scripts! They will automatically be picked up by Umbraco. Same goes for editing them with an external program, after you saved them the changes will appear in Umbraco as well.
Templates (aka Masterpages) should actually work the same, haven't tried that out though.
Why No Upload/Import for Stylesheets, Scripts and Templates?
Who agrees that there should be the ability to simply upload a Stylesheet, Script or Template via Umbraco back end? Sort of like Document Type Import.
I realize you can create packages with scripts and stuff, but that's kind of a lot to go through to pull a stylesheet into the site.
Stylesheet = copy and paste
Script, template = perhaps
