I recently fixed my own query, but I can't mark this as solved on the forum. I think this is a shame, as it means that others may not look at it as a potential solution to their own issues.
Currently marking a thread as a solution will reward karma points - thus can be easily gamed.
I agree that if you've resolved your own problem, then should be able to mark it as the solution ... with no additional karma/reward. Hopefully that functionality/logic might be included in future.
