    Umbraco 5 (Jupiter) - Document Types in file system

    Hi all,

    As always, please feel free to hit me with a big stick if this has been asked, descussed before, I've done a search but with no success.

    Are there any plans in future versions of Umbraco (for example version 5+) to have Document Types editable via the file system (the same as how Templates are editable in the file system).

    I am talking similar functionality to what uSiteBuilder provides in version 4.7, with the ability to change document types programatically.

    Yup - we call it Code First (inspired by the EF naming) and it's in the roadmap for 5.1. Yes, it's even here - albeit well hidden and a little hard to understand:

    Hey Niels,

    I’m really looking forward to the Code First future in Umbraco 5.

    But in can’t find any information about it.

    What can we expect? A build in uSiteBuilder? Do you have some details as I`m really interested about it.

    I found an thread where you wrote“5.3 scheduled summer”.  Is this still up to date?

    v5 has been discontinued, but there's on going discussions about adding a Code First approach to vFuture.
