Mark post as solution as an admin (no karma involved)
From what I experience in the last few days/weeks, I'm finding that not many people do some extra effort to mark a post as the solution to their answer, making the system more or less useless. It would be great if admins could mark posts as the solution (and nudge the author to not forget it next time)
For example: this thread where author explicitely states that he's found the answer based on someone's post. I don't like to vote down as this works contraproductive in this case, right?
(No karma points if admins have to mark a post as solution of course!)
In this special case, I was the thread starter and I answered my own question. So I think that he just can't mark this topic as solved. Correct me if I'm wrong.
So in this case it would be nice to answer the own question as solution. But that could cause abuse. Or like you said the admins can mark the answer in this case as solution. That would be nice anyway. Because it makes the topics in the overview much more interresting when you can see that a solution was found, if someone forgets to mark.
Just ran into the same problem in a bug i submitted, and I now fixed it, but cannot mark my own post as a solution to the bug. So I vote for a feature like this as well. Or the possibility to mark your own comment as an answer, without getting any karma for it. But just to mark the post as resolved in case noone else has replied.
