Adding reasons for voting items up or down (esp projects)
I don't know if this has been suggested before or not, however..
I'd like to see the option to add a comment/reason when voting a project or forum post up or down (more importand for projects, I think).
For example, when looking at Dirk's protected media project there are 2 negative votes, but no reason why. The reason could be optional, but would be more useful than a score and a list of people and there voting choice. It owuld help make a decision whether to look into a project in more detail or not.
This already happens when voting down, but it's probably not necessary when voting up. "I like this" is probably the default response.
I found this out when a spammer appeared advertising ipod software recently, was prompted to give a reason why. It's fair enough, I suppose - but at the end of the day if someone wants to be an asshole with voting they'll be one - whether or not they need to give a reason.
Down votes on the project were initiated before we had that flame war, thus before decision's been taken to insist on a reason for voting down, and would like to know the reason as well? So, guys who've down voted this, you're welcome to contact me as to why it has been downvoted. And I can stand criticism pretty well ;)
