I am using custom image media types and it is a 'pain' to upload those media in the media section as the default utilities use the 'image' media type by default ...
I was wondering ... why not adding one of more properties to the 'folder' media type which allows us to 'default' some media settings for that folder ... like for example the 'default media type' ...
The utiltilies could then simply read those properties and use the settings to upload media ...
You can create in Media Types a custom Media folder, with the default setting of the type you want.
If you have a look at Jeroens site for DAMP, you will see how he does it there,
That is easier than trying to explain it, but if I remember correctly, you need to part create one part, can't remember if it is custom image, or the folder, then create the other part, then go back and finish the other,
Maybe if you try to create the folder with what you have you will see what I mean.
