    Create template overwrites existing cshtml with same name

    Templates, (partial) views and macros
    Umbraco 7

    Hi guys I've noticed what seems to be a change in behavior for v7.4.

    On earlier versions of Umbraco, creating a template would not overwrite an existing .cshtml of the same name, but would use that existing .cshtml.

    However, we've recently moved to 7.4 and now it looks like Umbraco overwrites the .cshtml.

    The change is a bit of a pain for workflows where we deploy code (incl .cshtmls) before we make the changes in the backoffice.

    Just wondered if anyone else seen this, and any rationale for the change??

    Hi Ian,

    I can approve the same behavior on my machine, I'm developing Umbraco as a Service, so it's new way how it works. Maybe it can be fixed.

    Agree with you that it's a bit of a pain when you develop views.

    Then theres a chance it will be fixed.
