I think there is a compiling issue. Perhaps it is looking for an old template that was removed. 4 master templates show in the Master templates right panel. Yet there is no template associated with the Masters.
Right, I've fixed the 502 issue by making a new template name (which isnt called home).
Seems that even if there are no template files showing. The master templates still associate with ones that are deleted. But there is no way of removing this association.
Making templates 502 Server error
Hi,
I have just started using Umbraco. The videos on umbraco.tv are super useful and all was going going really well.
However, when I tried to save a template as a master file, all my template files disappeared and now I get a 502 error.
I tried to start again, clearing everything out and starting back with the basics, but the system keeps firing up 502 errors.
Can anyone please help??
Regards,
Rob
Hi Rob
Are you using Rzor views or Web forms master pages?
So you can't save master via Umbraco backend?
Did you set right folder permissions for the project?
It should be like described here - https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/getting-started/setup/install/permissions
Thanks,
Alex
Hi Alex
Thanks for your feedback. I think Rzor.
I'm just following the umbraco.tv training videos. I am working on Cloud, so I'm assuming permissions should be ready set up for me. Maybe wrong...
Is there anyway to roll back?
Rob
You are right, if it's cloud - everything should work.
Can you have a look at /app_data/logs?
Trace log of Umbraco, also you can install diplo trace log package for looking into the logs - https://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/diplo-trace-log-viewer/

Is there a way to see what the 502 error is from?
