I have downloaded "Umbraco-CMS_dev-V7" source code. After installing umbraco, I can create document types but the template is not editable and can't even save it. When I click on save button on the template, the page just hangs up.
Never use this branch. This branch is for development and may be broken. If you want the source code, always get the latest stable version. In that case it would be the 7.10.4 link below
If you are trying to build a potentially production ready website, you don't want to be building the Umbraco source code. Instead you would want to use either a nuget install or the zip download. Instructions for this can be found here.
However, if you are trying to build an run the source so you can contribute to the Umbraco source, the odds are there is some sort of permission issue happening. Can you check your browser developer console for any errors?
