Adding new properties to an existing tab of the master document type.
Because i'm working out a proof of concept for a multi-site installation i ran into the following issue:
If a parent document type has a "content" tab, and i try to add more properties to that tab from it's child, i get a duplicate "tab" with the same name:
Is there a work-around so i can add more properties to existing tabs?
No, it's not possible to add a property to a parent tab. I think that 4.5 also prevents you from creating a tab which is the same name as that of the parent too

I was testing this on a 4.5 install, and could add tabs with the same name without warnings
Also there is a particular case that will result in duplicated field names (parent + children). Already reported in codeplex.
