It'd mean there's something wrong with writing to the XML cache, I'd suggest checking the permissions of where the Umbraco.config file is (it'll be /App_Data in 4.5.x and /data in 4.0.x).
Also check the umbracoLog table in your database for any errors.
Publish node error
Hi guys, when I publish a page, all the pages in my Umbraco installation disappears.
The "Link to document" field is blank.
Why does this happen?
It seems be an issue, when you have a website with very many pages (more than 1.000)
