I just signed in and am not familiar at all with umbraco, but it sure looks good.
Is my understanding correct that the CMS is completly compatible with any template using as long as it is designed in a masterpage? Reason is that I want to integrate the CMS in a existing design of one of my customers to provide them with a good CMS.
So bottom question, when I have a template existing of HTML with CSS , is umbraco easaly fitted in?
Umbraco applies no restrictions to your templates. You can have any html and css you wish.
A good place to start for beginners would be to install a Starter Kit from http://our.umbraco.org/projects/starter-kits/. This will install a series of templates, css, macros, etc that will show you how a site can be built.
