I have one web development company working for me who have built our front end website using Umbraco.
However, I want to have the design updated by a separate designer who does not know Umbraco at all.
My question is: would the second developer just be able to create new normal HTML & CSS template files, and then pass over to the first company to easily apply to our Umbraco site?
Or do the designs have to be built from scratch in Umbraco?
That shouldn't be a problem at all. We often have front-end developers creating HTML templates outside of Umbraco, and have back-end developers working on the functionality simultaneously. When the HTML templates are finished the back-end developers move them into Umbraco.

It wont be a problem at all. they are two different phases!
