"Error on page" when trying to open content node in UI - umbraco v3

Hello. All of a sudden a v3 installation is throwing a page error when trying to open the "home" content node with the UI.

All other nodes are all working as they should but this one won't let me near any of the content tabs.

I've tried doing a copy but the problem persists and I can't get to the properties tab to change the template.

I'm at loss, anyone have any idea what this problem is?

I.E. is reporting this as follows:
    Line: 6
    Char: 7
    Error: Object required
    Code: 0
    URL: http://www.renaissancesouthend.co.uk/umbraco/editContent.aspx?id=1046

Any help or pointers would be great - thanks as always!

    Barney

Are there further details in the YSOD (Yellow Screen of Death)?
The more infor the better if possible.

No, there's isn't a yellow screen of death so to speak. Looks like a javascript problem, an "Error on page" warning icon in the bottom-left-hand-corner of I.E. In firefox it simply fails to load any of the content for that particular node.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks

Hmmm try it with firefox with firebug enabled - see if any errors pop up there.

I've got a feeling it's something the client has put into the content field (a property called MainContent within document types).

Do you know how to clear a property via the database?

hmmm i never tend to touch the database personally - can you right click on the node and roll back to a prior version?

I created a new home node from the template and rebuilt the structure from there. Then deleted the corrupted node... bit time consuming but it's worked.

    Thanks for your help Warren.
