ultimatepicker datatype with a dynamic nodeid?

I'm having fun with the ulimatepicker datatype...
at the moment I have a content type 'featured content' which just uses an ultimate picker and nothing else.

The problem I'm having is that I want to create mutiple 'featured content' items in my site tree which will all point to different nodes. As far as I can tell, there's no way to do this without making mutiple ultimatepicker datatypes (from the developer section) which hardcode the node id's that I want to use.

    Does the above make sense?
It would be neat to have one content chooser/featured content document type and I get to select the node id that I want the ultimate picker to look at, which would then populate the content available to choose.... all from the comfort of the content tab. Is this a good idea? or possibly just a load of bollocks?
