The starter kits are the best place to look - install the Standard Web Starter Kit or business starter kit and look around.

I know the team behind the Umbraco are working on a new Umbraco.tv, with some newer videos, but this i now on a beta.http://beta.umbraco.tv/

If you are going to see the introduction videos be aware of that they are showing the xslt for the old XML schema. The new XML was introduced from Umbraco 4.5 and so on.

There is different ways to get data out of Umbraco. One is by written some XSLT to trasform the xml data, and another is getting the data by using Razor. Razor is a relatively new method in Umbraco to get data out. (From Umbraco 4.7).

If you choose to get data from umbraco by using Razor I think that these resources could be useful.

And the http://beta.umbraco.tv/ have´s lot of videos showing how to use Razor.
