    Best forum for heavy load....

I'm looking to build a forum based on .net/Umbraco that can handle a serious load i.e. 4,000 people posting at the sametime and upto 20,000 viewing.

Is Yet ANother Forum still the way to go or will that even struggle?

The site is for a pre-existing football/soccer forum that is perhaps the most heavily used in the UK and I am looking at taking over the site and building on top of that fantastic userbase with integration to Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and You Tube.

I'm thinking of hosting on Amazon cloud to handle the load but this site gets around 20m unique page impressions a month so I think the ad revenue will be worth it.  At the moment it generates £0.

    Thanks

    DC

i've no experience with anything this size, but community server might be a good place to look in terms of finding about about the size of their scalability solutions.

4000 posts - is that per second?

you can also look into instantforum -- it isn't free, but not a bad price point... pretty feature-feature rich and Dirk has helped me to integrate it with umbraco, so it can be done.
