    editing templates outside of Umbraco UI not getting picked up

    Templates and document types

    I just created a new MVC project using Umbraco 7.  I am editing my views/templates in visual studio, but these changes are not being reflected in the Umbraco UI.I am sure this is something standard, but just can't seem to find an answer.

    My current working theory is that my templates and view have to be prefaced with the naming convention 'umb' or it will not synch correctly?

     

    • I know that this is not a security or permissions issue.
    • There is nothing in the logs.
    • I can't find any configurations that might affect it either.

    Hi Rob and welcome to our :)

    What kind of files are you curently editing? And are you viewing the changes the correct place?

    What is your setup? Do you have a local dev environment and a staging environment?

    Could you show some code?
