I am new to Umbraco. So I am following Umbraco tutorial (umbraco.org) step by step. In the "CREATING(EDITING) YOUR FIRST TEMPLATE" section, it is said
" Open up index.html from the Initializr template in your favourite text editor (Notepad++ is good). Copy and paste the whole thing into this template after the closing curly brace "}".
But I am not able to find Initializr template and index.html. Can you please help me.
If I remember correctly the old videos on umbraco.com, was based on the material from our Umbraco training courses at this time. If you are interested to know more about the training courses you can find the information here. http://umbraco.com/products/training

Hi Sunitha
You have found the old videos, there are some new updated videos on Umbraco TV for version 7. Try to see this chapter about templates. http://umbraco.tv/videos/umbraco-v7/implementor/fundamentals/templating/introduction/
If I remember correctly the old videos on umbraco.com, was based on the material from our Umbraco training courses at this time. If you are interested to know more about the training courses you can find the information here. http://umbraco.com/products/training
Hope this helps,
/Dennis
Thanks Dennis. Those Videos are somuch helpful.
If this is an outdated tutorial maybe it shouldn't be the default one on the umbraco download/getting started page.
From your home page I ended up with this guide https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/tutorials/creating-basic-site/Creating-Your-First-Template-and-Content-Node
And I got stuck. @Dennis Is there a written tutorial similar to what I am following now for the new version instead of the the videos?
is working on a reply...
