I have an umbraco 6 site. I would like to package the content, doctypes and templates and install it as a package in a clean umbraco 7. Is that possible? Or is it easier to upgrade from 6 to 7?
It is possible to create a package and use it on v7.
But sounds like you're moving away from a v6 installation to a v7 installation? Then you should probably consider upgrading instead since there is no way to package the "Media" folder as far as I remember. You should also be aware that there could be incompatible packages on your v6 install, which don't work on v7 etc.

I am indeed moving from v6 to v7. I will look into both cases and decide which is easier.
