First question that comes to mind is why you'd want to build another commercial e-commerce plugin for Umbraco. There are so many already that you'd have to come up with a pretty unique angle for it make sense.
Otherwise I'd just use one of the existing offerings to build whatever solutions you need.
On the idea of taking an existing plugin and building your own commercial offering on top would be a bad idea. It would be the same as buying up brandname soda, refilling it onto your own bottles, and selling it under your name. Not a good idea.
Custom eCommerce Plugin
Hi,
My current project requirement is to create an commercially resellable eCommerce plugin for Umbraco. For example, a plugin to sell airplane tickets.
There would be a custom admin section for configuring the flights. That seems straightforward. But then I need to handle transactions, reporting, etc.
Can I leverage uCommerce for my own comercial plugin? Am I breaking some sort of license by doing that? Is it just a bad idea?
uCommerce has it's own admin interface. I would want to hide/integrate that into my own eCommerce admin interface. Is that possible or allowed?
Any suggestions on what existing tools I can leverage here, and what I should expect to do on my own?
Thanks!
