    Examine search - What is quicker/more efficient - creating a new index or adding field to existing index

    Hi,

    I am indexing fields on a site using Examine search.

    I want to add some additional functionality that separately using a different field in the node.

    Question, is, form performance reasons, should this field be indexed separately in a brand new index or added to the config of the existing index.

    There will be an overhead for both, but which overhead is larger?
