Sorry I'm late to the party, but I've finally gotten round to having an extensive play with version 7 (I'm on 7.0.3). The first thing I've noticed is that it's unusual to have to make two clicks to save content without publishing (or sending for approval).
Something about making a split save / save&publish button bar did come up in the UX Google Group. Is it still up for debate?
