Currently there is no direct alternative - Could you ellaborate a bit on what you're trying to do? Perhaps the multi node tree picker could be used.

Which part of Ultimate picker?

There is multinode tree picker for v7 which is pretty flexible.

Sounds perfect for the multinode tree picker, set "Maximum" to 1

Its really amazing that Multinode tree picker do not work when content has Enable list view True.
