The media picker in the content node does not appear when the media item is trashed or deleted and the node so you can't delete or change to a diffent item. Also the node can't be saved or published again.
If it's a bug, which it does seem to be, then the best you can do is to vote up the existing bug and add your steps to reproduce or add another bug report describing how to reproduce.
This works in 7.1.0 RC.
Anyone who downloaded the Beta that was incorrectly published on the the current/preferred download page should update.

I've tried installing the latest 7.1.0 as of today but it looks still no good.
Is there a manually way to fix/remove the value via the database?
I've tried to remove the value from cmsPropertyData with no luck.

I was hoping for some advice to manually clear the record from the database while the fix is created.
I've worked out how to manually clear the field so I won't delete media items until the fix is supplied.
