    Increasing max upload size

    Yes, I tried adjusting maxContentLength first, as suggested.  I am still getting the error, despite having increased it to the max, and even removing it as suggested by microsoft.

    I'm trying to upload a 100MB package of media files from umbraco 4.7.0.  All other packages have worked just fine.  The limitation here is the fact that media has to be done through the files section of the package creation ui, and when you have a lot of images and folders, nobody wants to upload 400 packages of images.

    Hi Jonathan

    What does your web.config setting currently look like for increasing the max upload size?

    Try having a look at this article http://24days.in/umbraco/2013/6-easy-configuration-tweaks/ on how to tweak that property in the web.config and the security stuff as well.

    Hope this helps.

    /Jan

    I just ran into a very similar issue, and that article was quite helpful. Works like a charm now! Thanks Jan.

    also modified applicationhost.config with this command:

    C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\config>%windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd set config -
    section:requestFiltering -requestLimits.maxAllowedContentLength:2000000

    @Adam: I'm happy to hear that :)

    @Jonathan...I don't see you have added the <security> section from the article as I mentioned in my post above. Sometimes it's needed to add that section as well before it works. i guess it has to do with the server configuration...So please add this in the system.Webserver section.

    <!-- Max file size limitation -->
    <security>
      <requestFiltering>
        <requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="157286400" />
      </requestFiltering>
    </security>

    And could you try increasing the timeout to 3600 instead of 360? I know a couple of minutes should be enough but perhaps increasing it a bit wouldn't hurts.

    Hope this helps!

    /Jan

    Well that solves one problem and replaces it with another.  I'm able to upload the file, and I verified the contents in App_Data.

    When I upload the file, a folder appears, named with a GUID, and in it are all the images with a package.xml file.  But once click to proceed with the install, the files start disappearing one at a time, then everything suddenly disappears and I get the yellow-screen-of-death with the following message:

    Could not find file 'E:\Data\wwwroot\umb7.sparkenergy.com\App_Data\f2fb3687-ee59-4a85-b32d-8917c6fdadb1\package.xml'.

    Well, it was JUST there.  I seen it.  But when I click install it deletes it and tells me it can't find it.  Can you shed light on this behavior?

    Hi Joanathan

    Well...could you tell a bit more on your setup? Do you have several instances like local, staging, live environments etc.? What database are you using? Could it be a permission issue?
