As a security measure, I have been asked to remove the admin UI from an Umbraco 7 site, is this possible to do without affecting the front end of the site? I have tried deleting both Umbraco and Umbraco_Client folders (I seem to remember this was how you removed a pre Umbraco 7 site?) but I received a huge error on the front end of the site about a Master Page missing, which is the best way to remove the admin UI?
Thanks for the reply! Your solution works great but I'm still a bit concerned that somehow, something could still be accessed if the files are still there! Does anyone know of a safe solution, removing the UI entirely?
How to safely remove Umbraco 7 admin UI
Hi Everyone,
As a security measure, I have been asked to remove the admin UI from an Umbraco 7 site, is this possible to do without affecting the front end of the site? I have tried deleting both Umbraco and Umbraco_Client folders (I seem to remember this was how you removed a pre Umbraco 7 site?) but I received a huge error on the front end of the site about a Master Page missing, which is the best way to remove the admin UI?
Kind Regards,

See Sebastiaan's suggestion on page 2 of this thread. http://our.umbraco.org/forum/getting-started/installing-umbraco/9055-Prevent-external-access-to-umbraco?p=1
I've not done this myself so please test this on a test server first!
Hi Steve,
