Translating Existing Asp.net Web Application multilingual
We have an existing web application. We want to make it multilingual. I downloaded the umbraco cms and I am not able to add my existing site to umbraco cms. Please help.. Can anyone point to the link where ths is documented.
Before migrating your existing site over to Umbraco it's probably a good idea to learn the concepts of Umbraco first.
Initially Umbraco is just an empty shell (Unless you have chosen to use a starter kit during the installation) - Consider it a framework, which you can setup to suit your needs.
As well as all the things that Jan has said, I would definately think about your multilingual strategy. I've built a number of they years and there are a number of different approaches to this.
Matt Brailsford has released a really nice package called vorto I think? Which does this all the same page which is excellent.

Hi Tarun and welcome to our :)

I think that a good way to get up and running is by reading this guide on creating a basic site http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Using-Umbraco/Creating-Basic-Site/
And then the documentation section in general is a good way to find out more stuff http://our.umbraco.org/documentation as well as the annual Umbraco calendar at http://24days.in/umbraco/2012/ and http://24days.in/umbraco/2013/
It might also be worth getting access to http://umbraco.tv where there are many vides taking you through the different concepts of Umbraco.
Finally...In regards to setting up multiple sites it's indeed possible and the "dictionary" in the "settings" section is going to be your friend.
But try having a look at the different ressources and get familiar with Umbraco before moving on.
Hope this helps.
/Jan
