    Cannot login to 7.1.4 after installation

    Using Umbraco 7

    Hello,

    I did a fresh install of 7.1.4 yesterday, did some work, and today I could not login.  I reinstalled it a couple of times and still cannot login after installing.  I also noticed the place holders in the inputs are @placeholders_username and @placeholders_password.  I'm working out of Visual Studio Premium 2012, MVC application

    Hi Christine,

    please, go to the DB and find the umbraco.User Table.

    Enter the following (for testing if there is a umbraco break):

    admin as userLogin W477AMlLwwJQeAGlPZKiEILr8TA= as userPassword

    Then enter in the login Screen admin and use test as password.

    One other thing to try, did you try logging in using the email address for that user? By default Umbraco appears to use your specified email address as your username (something that has caught me out a few times), something you can change in the users section after logging on.

    Have you verified that Umbraco can connect to the database?
