a section of our site had a domain set in "domains and hostnames" which correctly directed to the sub-domain specified.
however on moving this section to be under another section within the content tree this sub-domain no longer works, the link goes to the www version...
the domain is still set... have removed it, re-added it to no avail....
no the parent of the 2 sections affected has no domain set...
they are set in IIS but also set in umbraco else they didnt seem to work....
however (correctly) when these 2 sections links are clicked or their children it goes to the subdomain... but there is a requirement to keep them as www. within the navigation links....
fair enough i have a function to convert these to www but while that takes effect some of the links 404...
for example a link to fcs.mysite.com/aboutus/ will work but as soon as its www.mysite.com/aboutus/ this will 404....
some converted links do still work fine as www though....
sub domain

Hi Mark,
Do any of the parent folders of the sub domain folder have a domain and hostname set already?
Cheers,
Mark.

ok think ive solved it...
it just needs another domain added for www. in addition to the subdomain
well that works for one section... i cant add www. domain to the other section on the same level...
tried adding www. domain at home page level but no joy....
Hi Mark,
What is the folder structure and the hostname relationship you are trying to map?
Cheers,
Mark..
