Question 1) Is there any way to search (including subfolders) similar to using the "filter" text box in the media picker window?
Question 2) On a similar topic, is there any way to quick search while using the page selector? For example, while using the Move page function, it would speed the process up if there was a quick search box there as well.
I have 100 folders in two sublevels. A need a quick way to select specific images without having to click through all the folders. Therefor I want to search all files/image while at the top level, so the way you suggest is unfortunately too time-consuming.

Hi Jakob,
1) There is some search functionality, but not exactly as filter on Media picker.
2) You can do custom search dialog box.
Thanks
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply.
Could you clearify what you mean by no 1)? What I need is a way to quickly find an image by filename using the media picker while editing a page.

Hi Jakob,
You need to create medias with name of your file. And than during page editing you can search medias by filter:

Thanks
That only searches in the current folder, and not in subfolders. And that is my problem.

Try to enter folder and search inside.

Jakob, so you have to use some custom dataType with the great filter. I used CTH.ExtendedMediaPicker, but it have the same filter. Maybe http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/digibiz-advanced-media-picker can help you.
Alex
Digibiz Advanced Media Picker doesn't support Umbraco 7. :)
is working on a reply...
