    "Failed to retrieve data for application tree content" (Umbraco 7.1.5)

    Hi all,

    I have recently inherited an Umbraco 7.1.5 project and I'm getting the following error in the back office:

    Originally the log showed this warning:

    I noticed that I was missing the Tag Manager DLLs so I added them in and the warning disappeared. However, I'm still getting the same error.

    This is the 500 error response that comes back when the back office application tries to GET /umbraco/backoffice/UmbracoTrees/ApplicationTree/GetApplicationTrees?application=content&tree=&isDialog=false:

    Right, this occurred after I upgraded the Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi NuGet package from version 4.0.20710.0 to 5.2.2.

    I'm just avoiding that upgrade for now.

    Currently the newer version of the WebApi doesn't work yet. There is a pr which might fix this for Umbraco 7.3: https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/617

    Thanks Jeroen, it's not essential for me at the moment though. I had to upgrade another package and for some reason got a bit trigger happy and upgraded them all!

    Lesson learned.

    Hi Guys,

    I have the Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi installed version 5.2.3.

    Everything is working fine.

    Then I have installed Merchello, the latest version (an Umbraco Package) and I cannot access it from the BackOffice.

    Everytime I click on the Merchello Icon, an error will occur:

    Has the newer version of the AspNet.webApi is affecting this? And how can I solve it please?
