Could this be a user-permission thing? I'm guessing but both the Luke and the Examine Managment search are showing me the raw result which sort of proves the index is OK - but does the backoffice search do any security trimming?
Could it be it thinks my user doesn't have the correct permission to see stuff?
Backoffice search not producing results - Umbraco 7.1.4.
After a fresh deployment via Octopus Deploy, I can see my App_Data folder get created with all the necessary Examine indexes.
I've opened the internal App_Data\TEMP\ExamineIndexes\Internal\Index in luke and done some basic searches on nodeName to get results.
However in the search in the backoffice just doesn't produce results.
Calls to /umbraco/backoffice/UmbracoApi/Entity/SearchAll?query=nodeName are returning empty JSON:
Anyone any ideas?
Did you search on nodeName ? Is that in your content ?
Dave
Via Luke? Yes I used nodeName.
????
You can also try to search in the backend. In the developer section there is a Examine Management dashboard. See if that returns any results.
Jeroen
Won't that require installing a package?
Nope. It is a tab in the developer section.
Dave
OK - installed the Examine Managemenrt package.
Used the internal search tool and got a result!
But still the backoffice search returns nothing!

UPDATE -
I've just uploaded a new image - "Light" - and low and behold if I search in the backoffice for "L", I get a result!
This result also appears through the Examine Management tab - but still, previous items like "lse.png" wont appear in a backoffice search.
Does the backoffice search only show me items I've created/uploaded?
Rebuilt the internal index seemed to fix it no idea why.
