MS SQL Server error no user or password when trying to write to the DB
Hi,
Using the latest Umbraco 7.2.1 with MS SQL server 2008. On the live hosted site, when attempting to save node data in the backoffice after logging in with the DB user name and password I get the error
Server error: Contact administrator, see log for full details.
Access denied for user ''@'10.0.44.202' (using password: NO)
Could this be a bug, is Umbraco losing the user details in the backoffice.
Are you running Umbraco on shared hosting or is it a dedicated server? I don't think this is a bug but more a case of insufficient permissions / Permissions not been setup correctly. Otherwise there would have been many more issues regarding this.
I thought they solved it I could publish without errors (the DB was updated, but whether the umbraco.config was i'm not sure as the new published content wasn't visible on the site even after a ctrl+F5?), but then I installed the umbraco forms package and got the same error agin on publish. They are having problems I think, I have just pasted the permission system requirements from the Umbraco site for them to check...

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Jan
Thanks for the reply.
It's on a shared hosting plan, I'll contact my provider...
Many thanks,
Ian
Hi Ian
Good idea - Hope you'll get things sorted. What provider is it by the way? Just curious :)

Hi Ian
Did you succeeed in getting your host to check that all is setup correctly on the server?
/Jan
Hi Jan,
Yes, a Microsoft DB connector update which they had to roll back was the cause I believe.
Everything works fine now...
Thanks for the heads up..
