Documentation for Backoffice - user permissions

Is there more extensive documentation on how to use backoffice?

I specifically want to know more about the authorization settings for Umbraco users. When you right click a node in Content and pick Permissions, I would like to know the exact differences between the many permissions that appear in the list.

I also need to understand the settings under the Users tab. When you click a user's name under Users two tabs appear to the right: the user's name and Content Channel. I don't understand the settings under Content channel.

Hi Ludmilla and welcome to our,

I would try to answer the questions that you have about Umbraco. For the question about permssions when you click on a content node and click permissions, you can find the exact differences between the many permissions that appear in the list here. https://our.umbraco.org/wiki/reference/umbraco-client/context-menus/permissions

I know the screenshot is a bit different (It´s from Umbraco 4 or 6) but the fuctionallty should still be the same in Umbraco 7. Here is also a blogpost about what Content Channel is http://www.proworks.com/blog/2012/08/06/publish-blogs-or-content-to-umbraco-from-your-mobile-phone/ it also a bit old, but should give you a good idea about what is uses for.

Since you are new to Umbraco I would recommed you to take a look at Umbraco TV. http://umbraco.tv/ There are some free videos that explains the basic concepts of Umbraco, some of the videos needs that you subscribe to the service, but you can see the different plans here: http://umbraco.tv/plans-signup/

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis
