I have inherited an Umbraco project as a novice. We have 27 sites with an archive of 250,000+ articles, plus various other document types. Call it 300,000 pieces of content. The system has been set up already, but is incomplete. My previous experience is on a self developed CMS with 84 sites on LAMP servers.
I'm not sure Umbraco is going to be up to the task under current config. I expect in the region of 1000 new articles per week.
My preference is a single database solution, with full archive in the same place. Each of the 27 sites has a unique set of nodes with two level hierarchy, ie. site/node_level1/node_level2/articles/
My investigations lead me to worry that there are performance issues. Does anyone have experience of multi site installs with > 200k pages?
