I'm trying to get an Umbraco website up and running using Azure Websites and git deploy.
I've created a brand new Umbraco site and made sure everything is working locally. I have no content or anything yet, no starter kit, just a completely clean installation.
I've set up git deploy on the azure website and pushed everything to the branch that I've set the website to pull from, no errors here. When I go to the website, I'm greeted with the Umbraco splash screen telling me that there's no content as I'd expect, but when I try and access the back office, I get an internal server error, complaining that it can't load the resource...
'/umbraco/Application?umb_rnd=xxxxxxxxxx'
I've ftp'd into the website to have a look around, but couldn't see anything obviously missing.
Has anyone had this issue before? Any help would be appreciated!
Can't say that I have any experience deploying to Azure. But I think there must be something missing in order for the backoffice to be working. Could you try copying over the /Umbraco and /Umbraco_Client folders manually using FTP to see if that helps any? If so then you need to figure out why some of the files are missing when you're using GIT.

Don't know if you can find some inspiration in these articles by Maff Rigby btw - http://maffrigby.com/how-to-deploy-umbraco-7-to-an-azure-website-using-visual-studio-online/ and http://maffrigby.com/deploying-umbraco-7-to-an-azure-website-using-bitbucket/
