We are thinking of to use Umbraco for redesigning our web site. For this we want to know your thoughts about the performance issues if any we could face if we use Umbraco for our site. Here are some of the important features of our site :-
a. Site will have about 1500 pages.
b. Site will have thousands of images
c. Site could have about 700 to 1000 users concurrently using the site
d. Site will have integration with social media controls (Share this widget), Google Maps, Blog Posts.
e. Other important features of site will be Url Routing, Url Rewriting with Intelllegencia, Microsft Enterprise Libraries, Some third party controls etc.
All of your points shouldn't be a problem. Umbraco has some good caching and great performance. If you want to have a good example project have a look at the Hybrid Framework.
