I want to learn how to use Umbraco. I would need someone to help me with the build of our company website and teach me how to use Umbraco. Location: Noord-Holland, Netherlands
A good starting point learning Umbraco could be by having a look at the Umbraco TV. Umbraco TV is some video tutorials that shows the basics on how to work with Umbraco. http://umbraco.tv/videos/umbraco-v7/implementor/ Some of the videos are free to watch and some of the requires that you subscribe to Umbraco TV. You can see the different plans here: http://umbraco.tv/plans-signup/
Umbraco offers also training where you learn how to use the CMS. The training session is two days, and ends with a certification test, so if you pass this you will become a certified Umbraco developer. Umbraco offers two levels of training Master Class Level 1 and Master Class Level 2, you can se more about th traning here, http://umbraco.com/products/training
As you can see here http://umbraco.com/products/training/schedule.aspx the Umbraco traning are scheduled and run all over the world. And you are always welcome to ask your questions this forum, then I am sure that there are some friendly people who will try to help you the best they can.
Thank you so much. I will have a look at the TV Tutorials. I hope the Umbraco training will also be held in the Netherlands in the future. Because travelling to the UK or the USA - how much I would love to - is not an option.
I the meanwhile I hope a Dutch webdesigner or student with Umbraco knowledgde has time to guide me also. Of course against payment.
Thank you again for your quick response and for later: a nice weekend!
Could it be an option to travel to Denmark? HQ do level 1 and 2 training in Odense in Denmark as well. And The Netherlands and Denmark is not necessarily that far away? :)
Otherwise perhaps Jeroen Breuer can help you finding a tutor? Maybe try asking him using Twitter? I don't think he minds a kind enquiry :) Twitter handle is @j_breuer - There also is a quite active community around Umbraco in the netherlands - There is a user group, which you can learn more about here http://www.duug.nl/ - You can also try tweeting the user group and I'm sure you'll get some hints (If you're using Twitter at all of course).
