    Advice re UK Hosting Provider

I tried to set up a basic Windows Web Shared Hosting package with 1and1.co.uk, however this was unsuccessful and i was advised that i would need to upgrade to a private Virtual Server to enable me to use Umbraco. However, this costs quite a bit more and for the meantime im using Microsoft Azure on a free trial version where it all works perfectly fine. Looking ahead, Azure is also a bit pricey so can anyone advise or recommend any UK hosting providers that can accommodate my Umbraco website?

    Thanks, Sam.

    Hi Sam,

You dont need to purchase VPS in order to run Umbraco site. IN fact, you can use shared hosting. I have used shared hosting for a long time, the most important thing that your hosting provider must support Full Trust to run Umbraco. If you're looking for UK server, I would recommend you to check ukwindowshostasp.net hosting plan. You can also find them on above list, https://our.umbraco.org/wiki/install-and-setup/trying-out-umbraco-before-you-install/recommended-hosting-providers. Ukwindowshostasp.net has good hosting plan. Give them a try!
