    User group permissions

    Using Umbraco 7

    Hi All,

    Is there an ability to configure Umbraco to use group permissions on the content trees?  One of our business requirements is to have users limited by the areas of the site they are able to create content in.

    We can do this using user permissions on each node, however this becomes a tedious exercise when we have a large number of users and keeping the permissions list up to date is a manual intensive task.

    Hi David,

    You can create new user type. And allow the permissions you want to give to that group.

    And assign that type to the Users you want to give only those permissions.

    Hi Urvish,

    Thanks for your reply.  I don't think this will work in our use case, as we want specific permissions on a node.  At the moment when looking at the node permissions, it only list users.  

    I did create a new user type but as above, only the users are listed in the permissions tabs.
