Sorting by username is also broken (same exception but for the 'username' column). However, sorting by name or email address works.
The Umbraco version is 7.2.6, just upgraded from 6.2.4. Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks.
Steven.
I reported the issue a while back. Hopefully it get fixed soon. Would be great to be able to sort by custom properties too.

Looks like improvements and fix might be coming in 7.3
