    Convert website project to Umbraco Project

    Hi All,

    I have a working website project (webform project), I need to move it to umbraco environment, how this can be achieved with minimum effort without making too many changes, whats the best way, please advise.

    Hi Sat,

    This is probably quite a specific issue to your project, but in general you would probably have to complete the following steps as a minimum:

    • Create DocTypes in Umbraco for your page definitions
    • Setup Umbraco templates for your layouts
    • Import your page data in to the Umbraco tree (using your DocTypes previously created)
    • Update your controls to use Umbraco's methods of data extraction

    I wouldn't class this as being a small task, but I would say the above is an overview of the minimum effort required.
