    Custom Media Types View

Hi, we have a number of custom media types and have just realised that at some point we have deleted the original "folder" media type. Now we don't know how to get the folder "view" in the media area (pic attached). Anyone know how we can get that view back.

What we have when looking at our custom type "folder": What we have when looking at our custom type "folder"

Original umbraco media type "folder": Original umbraco media type "folder"

That didn't work for me, I am assuming the "template" used for this view is a setting somewhere, almost like that media type "folder" has a hardcoded view?

    Hi Tim,

You need to go to the 'Generic Properties' tab, and add a new property as follows:

    Name: Contents:
    Alias: contents
    Type: Folder Browser
    Tab: Contents

    Save that.

    Cheers,

    Hywel

Cheers guys, worked a treat, while I'm on can you create layouts for media picker rather than the weird default that stretches images etc at the moment?

    Hi Tim,

You could always switch on the list view (on the Structure tab -> Enable list view).

You then get a button to 'Create custom list view' on the same screen.

I've not experimented with this myself though, so wouldn't be able to tell you how useful it is!

    Cheers,

    Hywel
