I'm having an issue with my Umbraco 7.2.6 site, where I can't create any new nodes - the create option doesn't show in the right-click menu!
I've tried refreshing app pool, restarting the app itself, clearing my cache, deleting cookies, reindexing examine and republishing the entire site, and to no avail. I'm primarily using Chrome but I tried creating from Firefox and I still had the same issue.
If anyone has the same issue, try the steps I listed above; I eventually got it to work by first deleting and reindexing all the folders in
App_Data\TEMP\ExamineIndexes, then rebuilding all the indexes again.
I've just hit this same issue on a site running 7.3.0 - there is no apparent reasoning for it and like you did I have cleared cache, examine indexes, republished, restarted and still no menu option. Your solution unfortunately has not helped for me.

OK I sorted this myself.
