I've been looking for a good IP to location-database/API for some of my sites (determine based on IP, whether you should initially go to the US, Dutch or German site).
I don't have any experience with these databases/webservices, and I hope someone has some input.
I've used the data on this website to verify/unit-test the accuracy of the IP addresses: http://www.nirsoft.net/countryip/
(Unfortunately I can't vouch for the accuracy of that data) :-(

Right now I'm looking at https://www.maxmind.com/ and https://db-ip.com/.
Does anybody know which one http://installs.umbraco.io/ is using?

I've used MaxMind's GeoLite2 (free) database on several projects, which works pretty well.

We're using Maxmind (GeoIP2 City) as well and the results seems legit.
