Does anyone know of a good Workflow package that can replace the notifications? We need something like Notifications but doesnt have to work on the premise that everyone has to signup to notifications before they can send and receive emails and that the emails can be changed as the current emails are incredibly unreadable - especially since Grids has come out - the email is full of HTML mark up and is no help to the user what so ever.
Jonathan, I can't help you I'm afraid but having exactly the same issue so thought I'd bump this in case anyone can help.
I'm using Archetype rather than Grid, but have the same results, emails full of gibberish that are no help to a CMS Editor. I've been looking at ways of, at the very least customising the email (ie removing the summary of changes and adding a "comments" box that the writer can at least give the approver a hint at what's changed).
If you have had any luck in the meantime, let me know what you've found out.
