Table editor in rich text field in Umbraco 7 seems basic? How to improve?

    Hi,

I have been playing around with the adding tables to the rich text editor - tiny mce.

However, it seems quite basic. It does not give an option to add classes or change colours. Can this be updated?

Also, if you look at the documentation here: https://our.umbraco.org/wiki/umbraco-help/content/editcontent/rich-text-editor/tables it shows a more advanced table editor. Was this only available in earlier versions of Umbraco?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Damon,

There is an older issue of this here, http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-4577 and it´s right that in earlier versions of Umbraco this was possible.

Perhaps you can use the package called table editor https://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/table-editor/ created by Kevin Giszewski.

Hope this could be a solution for you to use this package.

    /Dennis

I see the Table Editor package referenced a lot in these threads requesting better table support, but no one ever mentions that the package is limited strictly to plain text. If you want any kind of formatting, icons, or links in your text then that package is a no go.
