We need to allow users access to the media section of pre uploaded files but do not want to give the the ability to upload files themselves.
Is it possible to hide the media section menu from the left hand menu for a Writer but still allow access to the section when using the media picker.
If we set the user permissions to not allow access to the media section, as soon as they go to add an item it kicks them out of umbaco

Hi Hywel, Have you tried with another user type e.g. Writer or you could create your own custom user type in the users section and assign this user type to your editors. Could that work for you? Best -Bilal
